Our local non-profit client seeks an experienced Property Accountant to join their growing team! This organization has been a pioneer in providing community assistance to Portland neighborhoods and offers their employees generous benefits, along with a beautiful office environment in the heart of Portland. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, process-oriented, and enjoys utilizing their critical thinking skills to process complex accounting transactions - if this sounds like you, this could be the role you’ve been looking for!
This is a hybrid role requiring qualified applicants to commute weekly to offices in Portland, Oregon.
Property Accountant Responsibilities
- Handle daily accounting functions in a timely manner.
- Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
- Maintain general ledger ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies as they arise.
- Provide ad-hoc reports and account analysis.
- Support month/year end close and audit processes.
- 2 years of relevant accounting experience; exposure to real estate, construction, or property management accounting a plus.
- Knowledge of accounting principles/best practices and familiarity with multi-entity accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar field preferred.
- Proficient with ERP systems (Yardi preferred) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
- Flexible and team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
